Yuta Watanabe is making the Toronto Raptors Japan's team, with the 26-year-old topping the highest-selling jersey list in his home country, according to sales from the official online NBA Store in Japan, tracked since the beginning of the 2020-21 NBA season.

Watanabe has worked his way from the end of the bench, to a regular part of the Raptors' rotation this season, appearing in 22 games in 2020-21, including his first NBA career start, which came against the Detroit Pistons earlier this month.

In 12.2 minutes per game, he is averaging 2.7 points and 3.2 rebounds, with the Raptors sitting eighth in the Eastern Conference at 17-19 on the season.

He headlines the list, followed by Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, fellow Japanese star Rui Hachimura and LeBron James, rounding out the top five.

Watanabe previously held the No. 1 spot in Japan in 2019, while he was a rookie with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Meanwhile, the Raptors make their first appearance on the team merchandise sales list, ranking ahead of the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors and Washington Wizards.
