Game 2 of the WNBA Finals needed an extra five minutes to decide a winner after Courtney Vandersloot's clutch layup forced overtime with the scores tied at 79.

However, in the extra session, the Mercury wrapped it up after failing to do so in regulation. Starting guard Skylar Diggins-Smith, who nearly recorded a triple-double, got the game-winner to fall:

Diggins-Smith finished with 13 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds. She was one of the Phoenix Mercury's Big 3 to step up as Brittney Griner erupted for a game-high 29 points while Diana Taurasi scored 18 of her 20 points in the second half.

The 91-86 victory helps the Mercury tie the Finals 1-1 as the series now shifts to Chicago for Games 3 and 4.

The competitive, back-and-forth Game 2 got NBA Twitter buzzing including the reactions from multiple NBA players - past and present.
