Who is Leon Rose? Fast facts on New York Knicks reported new team President

According to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne, the New York Knicks are set to hire Creative Artist Agency (CAA) player agent Leon Rose to become the team's next president.

Rose's reported hire comes less than 48 hours after the team mutually agreed to part ways with former executive Steve Mills.

Who is Leon Rose? Here is some pertinent information about the Knicks' newest executive.

Rose is an attorney and sports agent that represented CAA's clients over the past few decades. He represented LeBron James from 2005-12 and at the time of his reported hire, was representing a list of clients that included Carmelo Anthony, Devin Booker, Joel Embiid, Chris Paul and Karl-Anthony Towns.

Why are the Knicks hiring a former agent? According to Wojnarowski, they are reportedly following a recent model set by the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers, who have recently hired former agents in Bob Myers and Rob Pelinka as executives, respectively.

Under Myers, the Warriors have made five NBA Finals appearances and won three titles, while the Lakers have emerged as a legitimate title contender in Pelinka's second year.

The Knicks are currently 15-36 and have not qualified for the postseason since 2013.
