According to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Chicago Bulls are finalising a deal to hire Denver Nuggets GM Arturas Karnisovas as their Vice President of Basketball Operations.

Who is Arturas Karnisovas? Here is some pertinent information about the Bulls' newest executive.

The 48-year-old enjoyed a successful playing career overseas, including representing Lithuania at the Olympics twice, winning two bronze medals at the 1992 and 1996 Games.

He spent seven seasons with the Nuggets helping develop the squad into a perennial Western Conference playoff contender, previously serving as the team's Assistant General Manager and Vice President of Basketball Operations.

Prior to his work with the Nuggets, Karnisovas spent five seasons with the Houston Rockets, eventually becoming the team's Director of Scouting. He also previously worked with the NBA's league office for four years, with a focus on identifying and developing international talent.

Karnisovas was a leading contender for the Brooklyn Nets' GM position in 2016 and in 2017 was a leading contender for the Milwaukee Bucks' GM position.

Notable deals

2019: Acquired Jerami Grant in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for a conditional 2020 1st round pick (DEN own) and a TPE.

2019: Signed Jamal Murray to a five year, $170 million rookie-scale extension with the Denver Nuggets.

2018: Signed Nikola Jokic signed a five-year, $148 million extension with the Denver Nuggets.

2018: Selected Michael Porter Jr. with the 14th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.
