The Raptors were one win away from tying the franchise record after their wins Hawks, and on both ends of a back-to-back against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Detroit Pistons.
While the Raptors had only won both games of a back-to-back once this season , both the Cavaliers (13-37) and Pistons (17-33) have losing records this season. Toronto has been beating up on those types of teams all season long, posting a 29-2 record against opponents below .500.
After wins over the Cavaliers and Pistons, the Raptors returned home for an opportunity to tie the franchise record against the Chicago Bulls (19-32), another team with a losing record this season.
They now have an opportunity to break the franchise record on Feb. 5, when they take on the Indiana Pacers (31-18), who welcomed two-time All-Star Victor Oladipo back to the lineup last Wednesday.
MORE: What Oladipo's return from injury means for the Raptors
That game against the Pacers will be a tough one - Indiana has been one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference all season long, trailing Toronto by only three games - but FiveThirtyEight's played-based forecasting model favours the Raptors in that game, as well as the ones against the Cavaliers, Pistons and Bulls. Their model gives them a 74 percent chance of beating the Cavaliers, a 66 percent chance of beating the Pistons, an 87 percent of beating the Bulls and a 71 percent chance of beating the Pacers.
It isn't until Feb. 7 that the site's model has the Raptors losing again. That game? In Indiana, where the Pacers have lost only six times this season.
After that, the Raptors will take on the Brooklyn Nets (twice) and Minnesota Timberwolves leading up to All-Star Weekend.
