Beginning Friday, July 23, fans will have the opportunity to own a Toronto Raptors NFT (Non-fungible token).

After teasing the concept, the team Tuesday announced the "Toronto Raptors 6ix Keys Collection," the franchise's first official NFT Collection, which, according to the team's release will allow keyholders to "unlock exclusive perks, from first-look access, signed game-worn memorabilia and curated VIP experiences."

The set of six keys, which celebrates a start to the reopening of Toronto, are created with that in mind. After the most vulnerable youth in the Greater Toronto Area have been impacted negatively by the lockdown, portions of the proceeds of each key will be donated to Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) Foundation's 'Change the Game' Initiative.

The six keys contain six unique themes, which unlock different elements. According to the site, the elements are as follows:

The City — "Made for fans who can't live without Toronto. If you think the North looks best in black and gold, you will want to unlock this Welcome Toronto inspired NFT."

The Team — "Made for fans who believe that great teams don’t start and end with the players. Unlock the chance to get the full picture of how the best organization in the NBA grinds it on the daily."

The Player — "Made for fans who have always been the unofficial sixth man. It’s time for your NBA call-up, unlock the chance to experience what it is like to be a part of the team."

The Past — "Made for fans who know you need to remember your past in order to appreciate the present. Unlock the story of how the North became champions - 27 Years of history, and a date with the Larry O’B."

The Future — "Made for fans who won’t settle for only one championship. Unlock a playoff experience in the team’s hunt for our next chip."

The Game — "Made for fans who believe that ball is life. Bring the game to life and unlock a true on-court experience with your personal squad."

How it works:

There will be Auction NFTs, which will be sold to the highest bidder, and users will be allowed to place bids across NFTs as soon as auctions begin. Winners will receive their Raptors NFT Key within their DropShop collection once Auctions close.

Keys that are considered "Rare" could include elevated experiences ranging from game-worn gear to signed memorabilia, tickets and suites to a game in the upcoming season. Keys that are considered "Legendary" consist of customized and one-of-a-kind experiences, such as access to Front Office executives, court time at Scotiabank Arena, access to the Larry O'Brien Trophy and more.

Auctions open on Friday, July 23 at 6:00 p.m. ET and close on Wednesday, July 28 at 6:00 p.m. ET.

Additionally, there are a limited supply of Toronto 6ix Black Keys, which each grant access to a virtual live behind-the-scenes look at the 2021-22 Toronto Raptors Marketing Day and will cost $30 each. Toronto Raptors Limited Edition NFTs go on sale at 6:00 p.m. ET on Friday, July 23.
