Warriors hang on to eliminate Spurs with Game 5 victory

The Warriors have advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals after defeating the Spurs 99-91 in Game 5 on Tuesday night.

San Antonio closed within two points in the final minute, but Golden State managed to hang on all the way to the end thanks to some timely baskets.

Kevin Durant led the Dubs with 25 points, while Klay Thompson wasn't far behind with 24. Draymond Green stuffed the stat sheet once again, totaling 17 points, 19 rebounds and seven assists, while Kevon Looney and Shaun Livingston added eight points apiece off the bench.

With the victory, Golden State wins the series four games to one.

LaMarcus Aldridge led the way for the Spurs with a game-high 30 points, 12 rebounds. Patty Mills added 18 points and five rebounds in the loss.

The Warriors will now turn their attention to their second-round matchup with the surprise New Orleans Pelicans who swept the Portland Trail Blazers in the first-round.

Game 1 is set for Saturday.
