Key additions and subtractions

It has been a busy offseason for the Jazz, who have made a number of moves.

Utah acquired Eric Paschall from the Golden State Warriors in exchange for a protected future second-round draft pick.

The Jazz also signed Rudy Gay and Hassan Whiteside in free agency and used the No. 40 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft to select Jared Butler from Baylor.

Utah re-signed Mike Conley Jr. (unrestricted) in free agency.

The Jazz traded Derrick Favors to the Thunder, while Georges Niang (unrestricted) signed with the Philadelphia 76ers in free agency.

Positional battles

It's hard to ignore the potential logjam in Utah's frontcourt, with five rotation-level players in Royce O'Neale, Bojan Bogdanovic, Joe Ingles, Rudy Gay and Eric Paschall all potentially vying for time at the forward positions.

The versatility of the players in the above group could end up making things easier for head coach Quin Snyder.

Things are a bit more settled in the backcourt, though Miye Oni and Trent Forrest will be battling as Oni's contract is non-guaranteed and Forrest enters the season on a two-way contract.
