Trae Young joins the likes of Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Kevin Durant in NBA history with monster game in Hawks double-overtime win

Trae Young has been flat out ridiculous this season.

The Atlanta Hawks guard received some criticism when he was selected as a starter for the All-Star Game based off of his team's record, but his individual output cannot be drawn in to question.

He showcased that yet again with an insane performance, going off for 48 points and 13 assists to lead his team to a double-overtime victory over the New York Knicks.

The Knicks led by eight points with under two minutes remaining in the first overtime before Young took over. He scored six of his team's final eight points to send the game into double-overtime, giving the Hawks a chance to pull off the improbable comeback.

Young then went on to score 11 of his team's 14 points in double-overtime, getting to the free throw line with ease going a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe with one 3-pointer to put New York away.

The second-year star scored his 48 points shooting 13-for-30 (43.3%) from the field, 6-for-13 (46.2%) from beyond the arc and a remarkable 16-for-16 from the free throw line. He also dished out 13 assists, creating 31 points for his teammates.

That made Young responsible for 81 (!) of his team's 140 total points, a whopping 57.9% of Atlanta's scoring on the night.

And the impressive feats didn't stop there.

With his 48-point, 13-assist performance, he surpassed Hall of Famers Michael Jordan (2) and Isiah Thomas (1) for the most 45-point, 10-assist games in NBA history before turning 22 years old.

On top of that, he joined LeBron James and Kevin Durant in the NBA history books, being the only three players to ever score 10 40-point games before turning 22 years old.

Any time your name is mentioned along the likes of MJ, Zeke, LeBron and KD, you're doing alright for yourself.

All in a day's work for Ice Trae.
