In an official release, Raptors head coach Nick Nurse stated that, "As Canada's team, we felt it was important to go out and visit somewhere we've never been before. We're really looking forward to taking advantage of the excellent facilities at Laval, which we know is one of Canada's great sporting schools, and to soaking in the incredible old-world atmosphere of Quebec."
This is the 12th time that the Raptors will hold training camp outside of Ontario - last season, the team officially started its season in Vancouver, BC, hosting a preseason game at the Rogers Centre at the conclusion of camp.
This year, the Raptors will have media day in Toronto on Sept. 28 before travelling to Quebec City for closed practices from Sept. 29-Oct. 2. On Oct. 3, the team will host an open practice at the Amphithéâtre Desjardins-Université Laval located inside the PEPS facility on campus.
At the conclusion of training camp, the Raptors will travel to Tokyo, Japan to take on the Houston Rockets as part of the 2019 NBA Japan Games Presented by Rakuten. The Raptors and Rockets will play on Oct. 8 and Oct. 10 at Saitama Super Arena before returning home for the remainder of preseason play.
