The Toronto Raptors announced their 2018-19 regular season schedule which will begin Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Scotiabank Arena.

On Wednesday, the full Canadian TV broadcast schedule was released by the team. Both TSN and Sportsnet will each carry 41 games this season which means an equal amount of Jack Armstrong and Leo Rautins will join Matt Devlin courtside on TSN and Sportsnet respectively.

Paul Jones will call games for TSN 1050 Toronto with Sherman Hamilton and Armstrong sharing analyst roles. Eric Smith will lead the play-by-play efforts with Jones as the analyst on Sportsnet 590 The Fan games.

The Raptors have won five straight season openers, the NBA's longest active win streak and one that began with a win over the Boston Celtics to open the 2013-14 season.

In the opening week, Toronto will play back-to-back primetime games on National TV in the states. On Friday, Oct. 20 the Raptors will host the Celtics in the first game of a double-header on ESPN before travelling to play the Washington Wizards the next day on NBA TV.

The opening week gives Toronto an opportunity to collect a statement win over a Celtics team that opens as the favourite in the Eastern Conference following LeBron James' migration to the West.

They split the four regular-season meetings in 2017-18 with the home team winning all four games.

If history is any indication, Kawhi Leonard couldn't ask for a better team to make his Raptors US National TV debut against as he's never lost in eight career games against the Celtics.

The Celtics and Wizards opening week slate also gives Kyle Lowry an opportunity to go toe-to-toe with a pair of fellow Eastern Conference All-Star point guards in Kyrie Irving and John Wall, against whom he's more than held his own.

Lowry has averaged more points, assists and rebounds per game than Irving in their 13 head-to-head matchups while he owns a 16-4 head-to-head record against Wall.

Other noteworthy home games on the 2017-18 schedule include a visit from the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors on Nov. 29 and LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers making their only trip north of the border on Mar. 14.
