Kyle Lowry is now on the road to recovery.

According to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Lowry has undergone a procedure to repair a tendon injury in his left thumb with intentions to be ready for USA Basketball Men's National Team training camp, which begins on Aug. 5.

After suffering the injury in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Toronto Raptors All-Star guard was forced to play the remainder of the postseason through significant pain.

During the Eastern Conference Finals, Lowry told reporters that his thumb "hurts pretty bad" but would be taken care of in the offseason (per Josh Lewenberg of TSN). He was spotted throughout the remainder of the postseason sporting tape on his left hand during games and during off days, wore support to "help with circulation."

In the 12 games following his injury, Lowry posted averages of 17.7 points, 6.2 assists and 4.8 rebounds while shooting 46.3% from the field, 42.0% from beyond the arc and 82.4% from the charity stripe. The five-time All-Star finished with 26 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds and three steals in the Raptors' title-clinching win.

With USA Basketball training camp just over two weeks away, Lowry's goal to return by then is an encouraging sign that the procedure and recovery have gone according to plan so far.
