Team USA needed a win to guarantee a spot in the Knockout Stage and they treated this game that way.

Czech Republic got out to a roaring start to take an early lead but the United States countered fast. Behind a dominating performance from Kevin Durant and a monster second half from Jayson Tatum, Team USA will keep their medal hopes alive and advance out of the Group Stage.

Final: Team USA 119, Czech Republic 84

Team USA exploded in the second half, coming away with a 35-point win over the Czech Republic. Kevin Durant was masterful with 23 points on 8-for-11 shooting from the field, but also led his country with eight rebounds and six assists. Jayson Tatum caught fire after halftime, finishing with a game-high 27 points on 10-for-16 shooting from the field and 5-for-6 from 3.

Czech Republic's Blake Schilb did his best to keep his country in this one, going for 17 points on five 3s. Tomas Satoransky stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, eight assists and six rebounds. The 35-point loss will certainly hurt the Czechs chances of advancing to the Knockout Stage, as point differential is one of the key tiebreakers.

The United States are shooting the lights out in the second half. They're 19-for-23 (!) from the field, blowing this thing open, leading 100-68 . Jayson Tatum is going off in the second half, up to a game-high 24 points.

End of third quarter: Team USA 82, Czech Republic 60

Team USA is running away with this one. The Czechs have absolutely no answer for Kevin Durant, who is putting on a masterpiece in Tokyo right now. He's up to 23 points while shooting 8-for-11 from the field and 4-for-7 from 3, also leading the United States with eight rebounds and six assists. Team USA closed the frame out with a 16-2 run to gain a comfortable lead.

The United States have a seven-point lead, up 63-56 with four minutes to play in the third . They haven't quite been able to put the Czechs away, with former NBA lottery pick Jan Vesley scrapping to keep his country in it with 13 points. Jrue Holiday is starting to get going for Team USA, up to 11 points on the game. Kevin Durant is still leading the charge with 18 points, five rebounds and five assists while shooting 7-for-10 from the field.

Halftime: Team USA 47, Czech Republic 43

The United States tightened the screws on defence in the second quarter, turning a seven-point deficit into a four-point lead heading into the half. Czech Republic is still shooting 50.0 percent from the field, but it's an improvement over the 65.0 percent they were shooting after the first frame. Team USA has been heavily reliant on the 3-point shot, attempting 21 3s to 18 2s. They're 7-for-21 from deep (33.3%) at the half.

Kevin Durant is heating up, going for eight points in the second quarter to own a team-high 13 points to go with five boards and two assists. Blake Schilb is single-handedly keeping the Czechs going with a game-high 14 points, including a deep step-back 3 in Damian Lillard's face at the buzzer to narrow the deficit.

Kevin Durant is now the all-time leading scorer in Team USA history! With a 3-pointer midway through the second quarter, Durant surpassed Carmelo Anthony (336) for the most points ever in a USA jersey. And he didn't stop there - the very next possesson, Durant knocked down another 3-ball to give the United States a 37-33 lead .

End of first quarter: Czech Republic 25, Team USA 18

Czech Republic got out to a red-hot start, taking a commanding lead early in this one. Forward Blake Schlib came out firing from beyond the arc, burying all three of his attempts from deep to lead the Czechs with 11 points in the first frame.

Damian Lillard struggled to get into a rhythm for Team USA, going 1-for-5 from 3 out of the gate. Zach LaVine's six points and Kevin Durant's five points helped bring the United States back into this one, leading an 11-4 run to combat the Czech's blazing start.
