Team USA: All-time leaders for career assists in Olympics history

LeBron James, having tied for the second-most Olympic games in Team USA history with 24, sits atop the list for most career assists for Team USA in the Olympics.

His tally of 84 is closely followed by good friend Chris Paul, who ranks second with 74 career assists despite playing one Olympics lesser than James.

James also holds the Team USA record for most assists in a single game with 12, a record he jointly holds with four other players - Kyrie Irving, Michael Jordan, Leon Wood and Phil Ford.

That said, here's a look at the top 10 players for all-time assists for Team USA in Olympics history:

Rank Player Career assists Career average Olympics
1. LeBron James 88 3.7 2012, 2008, 2004
2. Chris Paul 74 4.6 2012, 2008
3. Scottie Pippen 73 4.6 1996, 1992
4. Gary Payton 63 3.9 2000, 1996
Leon Wood 63 7.9 1984
6. Deron Williams 59 3.7 2012, 2008
7. Phil Ford 54 9.0 1976
8. Michael Jordan 54 3.4 1992, 1984
9. Chris Mullin 53 3.3 1992, 1984
10. Jason Kidd 51 3.2 2008, 2000

Part of the 2020 Olympics roster, Kevin Durant, who ranks 11th on this list with 49 assists, could certainly break into Top 10 and give his Olympics average of 3.1, he could rise as high as the Top 5.

From the roster going to Tokyo having no other three-time Olympian other than Durant, it's highly unlikely that any other player would crack into the Top 10.
