Curry exploded for 25 points on 9-for-9 shooting in the first period alone, with five of his makes coming from beyond the arc. This tied for the most points he has scored in a first quarter and was just three points away from his highest total in any quarter.

Naturally, twitter went crazy.

It also was Curry's eighth career quarter with 25 or more points. Since 1996-97, the next-closest player in that span is Kobe Bryant, who had four such quarters. No other active player has three 25-plus point quarters.
