Stephen Curry's 42 points, game-winner leads Golden State Warriors past Los Angeles Clippers

Earlier this season the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Stephen Curry-less Golden State Warriors in overtime.

Tonight, Curry was the difference maker that gave the Warriors a 129-127 victory over the Clippers.

Curry finished with 42 points on 12-for-22 shooting from the field, knocking down six 3-pointers. His six threes were huge, but no shot was bigger than the take that won the game.

Leading by one with 3:48 to go, Curry tossed up a heat check that seemingly put the game away for good. He buried a heavily contested three that resulted in an and-1, giving the Warriors a comfortable two possession lead.

Sure Not Now

They led by eight after a clutch Kevin Durant 3-pointer but the Clippers weren't going down without a fight.

They went on a 7-0 run in just one minute to tie the game on huge shots from Danilo Gallinari and Tobias Harris, but it was Avery Bradley who buried the three to bring them within reach and the putback dunk to tie the game.

Their efforts fell just short when Curry got the switch he wanted, taking Montrezl Harrell to the rim to win the game.

Durant scored 35 points in securing the win for the Warriors as they held off Harris (32 points) and Gallinari (25 points). The first game took overtime and the second meeting resulted in a game-winner as time expired. With two more of these matchups on the schedule, NBA fans are in for a treat as these appear to be two of the tops teams in the Western Conference.

They'll next face off on January 18th, back at the STAPLES Center.
