Free-agent forward Michael Beasley has reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with the Detroit Pistons, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Per Charania, Beasley will miss the first five games of the season after being handed a five-game suspension for violating the league's anti-drug policy last season after stepping away from the team to be with his late mother, who was battling cancer.

The 11-year veteran appeared in 26 games for the Los Angeles Lakers before being traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in February, where he was eventually waived. He played most recently in China with the Guangdong Southern Tigers.

Beasley reportedly turned down on offer to return to China, worth approximately $5 million, according to Stadium's Jeff Goodman.

The 30-year-old averaged 7.0 points and 2.3 rebounds for the Lakers last season. He holds career averages of 12.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game.
