Following Paul George's move to the Los Angeles Clippers, Russell Westbrook could soon be on his way out of Oklahoma City, with the Miami Heat reportedly interested in trading for the Thunder point guard, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Westbrook's representatives are currently engaged with the Thunder in finding a trade partner, with a move to a contending team a high priority for the eight-time All-Star, with both parties keen on finding a resolution 'sooner rather than later' per Wojnarowski.

The Heat would look to pair Westbrook with Jimmy Butler who arrived in Miami via a sign-and-trade with the Philadelphia 76ers, however brokering a deal between the Thunder and Heat may be difficult given the Thunder own two of Miami's future draft picks courtesy of the George trade.

Sending Westbrook to South Beach would diminish the value of those picks, with the Heat immediately improving with the addition of the former MVP.

OKC is flush with future draft assets, acquiring six future first-round picks this week between their deal for George and sending Jerami Grant to the Denver Nuggets, with two first-round picks (2021, unprotected; 2023, protected) from the Miami Heat.

However, the Heat do have the salaries on their books to salary match in a deal for Westbrook, with the 30-year-old owed $170 million over the next four years after he signed a five-year, $205-million super-max contract extension in 2017.

Westbrook has spent his entire 11-year career with the Thunder, averaging 23 points, 8.4 assists and seven rebounds per game, averaging a triple-double of 26.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 10.4 assists in the last three seasons, winning the Most Valuable Player of the Year award in 2016/17.
