Doc Rivers time with the LA Clippers has come to an end.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Clippers have decided to let go of Rivers just two weeks after their loss in the Western Conference Semifinals.

Rivers confirmed the news in a statement on his Twitter account, where he stated "When I took this job, my goals were to make this a winning basketball program, a free agent destination, and bring a championship to this organization. While I was able to accomplish most of my goals, I won't be able to see them all through."

Rivers, who was acquired as the Clippers head coach from the Boston Celtics in 2013, led LA to the postseason in six of the seven seasons that he was at the helm. He posted a regular-season record of 356-208 (.631) and a postseason record of 27-32 (.458).
Despite the Clippers' regular-season successes, Rivers was unable to lead the team past the second round during his tenure. This postseason, LA failed to advance to the Western Conference Finals after building a 3-1 series lead over the Denver Nuggets.
By many accounts, the Clippers were an early-season title favourite as they feature the superstar duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. While the duo makes LA one of the most attractive job openings in the league, they each can explore free agency following the 2020-21 season.
