Brooklyn Nets swingman Caris LeVert has agreed to a three-year, $52.5 million contract extension, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

LeVert, who is celebrating his 25th birthday today, got the best present he could have asked for, sharing his excitement about the new deal on Twitter, shortly after it was reported.

The new deal will kick in for the 2020-21 season and according to ESPN's Bobby Marks, will pay him $16.2 million in the first year of the extension, rising to up to $18.8 million in the final year of the deal in 2023.
LeVert is trade eligible but will have a poison pill provision in his contract for this season. For outgoing salary, LeVert will count for $2.6M- the 4th year in his rookie contract. The extension puts LeVert on the same timeline as Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan, tying up the Nets' core group for the next four seasons.
The 6-foot-7 wing was a bright spark for the Nets last season, averaging 18.4 points per game prior to suffering an ankle injury, which sidelined him for 42 games.
He returned for their playoff push and led the team in scoring in the post-season, averaging 21.0 points in their five-game series against the Philadelphia 76ers.
For the season, LeVert averaged 13.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
