According to SNY's Ian Begley, Burlington, Ontario product Simi Shittu will sign a two-way deal with the New York Knicks.

As stated by Begley, the Knicks are in the process of filling out their roster and they believe Shittu, a 6-foot-10 power forward, could add some potential frontcourt depth.

Shittu had a strong performance in the G League bubble for the Westchester Knicks this past season, averaging a double-double of 14.5 points and 10.5 rebounds to go with 1.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.8 blocks per game.

He posted a couple very impressive stat lines during the bubble, including a game of 26 points, eight rebounds and three blocks while shooting 13-for-14 from the field against the Austin Spurs. He also had a game where he put up 21 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks against the Greensboro Swarm.

Shittu went undrafted in 2019 after averaging 10.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in his lone season at Vanderbilt. At 21 years old, this is a great opportunity for the Canadian big man to learn under head coach Tom Thibodeau and veterans like Julius Randle, Taj Gibson and Nerlens Noel.
