Mfiondu Kabengele will get another shot to make an impact on an NBA roster.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have announced the signing of the Burlington, Ontario native to a 10-day contract.

Kabengele spent two years with the LA Clippers organization. He played sparingly for the Clippers appearing in only 35 games over the two seasons but starred for their G League affiliate averaging 18.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.0 blocks while shooting 48.2 percent from the field.

The Cavaliers frontcourt has seen Jarrett Allen and Larry Nance Jr. out with a concussion and a non-COVID illness, respectively, and although Kevin Love has returned to the lineup, Kabengele can handle some of the center minutes left behind so Love doesn't have to.

Kabengele was traded to the Sacramento Kings in an under-the-radar deadline day move but was waived a couple of days later.

This latest 10-day could give Kabengele an opportunity to impress either the Cavaliers or another team as he heads towards free agency this summer.
