Reggie Jackson plans to sign with LA Clippers after agreeing to buyout with Detroit Pistons, reports say

The LA Clippers have apparently made another move.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Reggie Jackson has agreed to a buyout with the Detroit Pistons. Once he clears waivers, the 29-year-old reportedly intends on signing with the Clippers.

This is the final season of Jackson's existing contract. He's set to make $18.1 million.

Jackson has dealt with injuries this season, resulting in him playing in only 14 games, but he gives the Clippers another playmaker off the bench if he can remain healthy.

In his career, Jackson is averaging 12.9 points, 4.4 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game on 42.7 percent shooting from the field and 33.5 percent shooting from 3-point range. His best season came in 2015-16 when he averaged 18.8 points and 6.2 assists per game as Detroit's starting point guard.

Wojnarowski added that the Los Angeles Lakers were interested in signing Jackson.

The Lakers are currently five games ahead of the Clippers in the standings.

Nuggets 38 17 4.0
Clippers 37 18 5.0
Jazz 36 18 5.5
Rockets 34 20 7.5

With just 28 games remaining for the top seed Lakers and 26 remaining for the third seed Clippers, the battle in L.A. and the Western Conference is sure to heat up as we head toward the postseason.
