Record number of international players set to take part in 2020 NBA All-Star weekend in Chicago

NBA All-Star 2020 in Chicago will put the game's global reach on full display, with a record number of international players set to participate.

19 international players from 15 countries will take part across the weekend, from the Rising Stars game, to All-Star Saturday night, to the 69th NBA All-Star game.

NBA All-Star 2020 will reach fans in 215 countries and territories via television, computer, mobile phone and tablet in 47 languages.

Included in the 19 international athletes is four All-Stars who have been selected to start the game, with Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks; Greece), Luka Dončić (Dallas Mavericks; Slovenia), Joel Embiid (Philadelphia 76ers; Cameroon; BWB Africa 2011) and Pascal Siakam (Toronto Raptors; Cameroon; BWB Africa 2012) set to be on the floor when the ball is tipped.

The other international players to be selected to the feature event are Ben Simmons (76ers; Australia), Rudy Gobert (Utah Jazz; France), Nikola Jokić (Denver Nuggets; Serbia), and Domantas Sabonis (Indiana Pacers; Lithuania).

The Rising stars game will see first and second year players go head to head, with one team made up of ten first and second year players from the USA, while the other team will feature ten first and second year international talents.

In addition to those main events, the NBA will host the sixth annual Basketball Without Borders Global Camp, where Siakam, Davis Bertāns (Wizards; Latvia), Tacko Fall (Boston Celtics; Senegal), Cristiano Felicio (Chicago Bulls; Brazil) and 2017-18 NBA All-Rookie First Team member Lauri Markkanen (Bulls; Finland; BWB Europe 2014; BWB Global 2015) will coach 64 high school campers from 34 countries and regions.

A truly global event, NBA All-Star 2020 will bring together players, coaches, media and fans from across the world, highlighting the immense and continued growth of the game worldwide.
