The Toronto Raptors were in danger of hitting a bit of a skid, dropping three out of their last four games prior to Friday's win over the Washington Wizards.

Behind a career-high 27 points from Scottie Barnes and another double-double of 21 points and 12 assists from Fred VanVleet, the Raptors were able to win a game of runs and hold off a late comeback from the Wizards.

Barnes was stellar, finally finding a rhythm after recently missing time due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols and lingering knee soreness. It was his first 20-point outing in a month and he tallied his career-high scoring total on an efficient shooting night, going 12-for-19 from the field.

All five of the Raptors starters scored double figures, with Pascal Siakam (21 points), Gary Trent Jr. (13) and OG Anunoby (12) joining Barnes and VanVleet.

Toronto's frontcourt will be put to the test against Portland, with Jusuf Nurkic going off for 29 points, 17 rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal in a comeback win over the Boston Celtics on Friday.

The Trail Blazers will be without All-Star guard Damian Lillard (abdominal surgery), but CJ McCollum has recently returned from time away due to a collapsed lung and Anfernee Simons has also stepped up in Lillard's absence, averaging 25.7 points per game over his last nine games.

Can the Raptors contain those three players and build a winning streak?
