Shai Gilgeous-Alexander defends Fred VanVleet

On Wednesday, the Toronto Raptors host the Oklahoma City Thunder in search of their third straight victory.

After opening their seven-game homestand with back-to-back losses, Fred VanVleet powered the Raptors to a win over the Milwaukee Bucks with 29 points. A few days later, Pascal Siakam led the Raptors to victory over the Washington Wizards with 31 points, 24 of which came in the first half.

The Raptors improved to 11-13 on the season with those victories, placing them 12th in the Eastern Conference standings. They now sit 1.5 games behind the Boston Celtics, Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers for a spot in the Play-In picture.

The Thunder only recently snapped an eight-game losing streak that was headlined by a 152-79 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, which set an NBA record for largest margin of victory. They rebounded on Monday with a 114-103 win over the Detroit Pistons.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was dominant in Oklahoma City's win over Detroit with 30 points and 13 assists. Luguentz Dort added 28 points.

Wednesday's matchup with the Raptors will mark a return home for Gilgeous-Alexander, who was born in Toronto, and Dort, who was born in Montreal.

Gilgeous-Alexander is one of the league's rising stars. Now in his fourth season in the NBA, he's averaging 21.7 points, 4.9 assists and 4.9 rebounds through 20 games. Dort has established himself as one of the league's most feared defenders, but he continues to grow as a scorer, posting a career-best 17.3 points per game this season.

Will the Raptors be able to slow them both down?
