The Toronto Raptors will look to bounce back from a tough loss to the Miami Heat when they travel to Dallas to take on the Mavericks on Wednesday.

The Raptors have hit a bit of a skid since rattling off six straight wins, dropping three of their last four games. They had close matchups with two title contenders in the Heat and Phoenix Suns and even defeated the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks, but they also fell to the lowly Detroit Pistons amidst this stretch.

It has been an up-and-down season for the Raptors, who now stand at 21-20 on the season, holding on to the No. 9 seed to stay in the Play-In Tournament picture.

Fred VanVleet is still playing at an All-Star level, averaging 26.7 points, 6.3 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.7 steals in the month of January.

Pascal Siakam has looked like his former All-Star self, too, averaging 23.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 2.0 steals per game this month.

Toronto is starting to get healthy, with their core group available, although Scottie Barnes is still working his way back into shape since coming off the COVID list and Gary Trent Jr. is dealing with an ankle ailment that could keep him out of Wednesday's game.

The Raptors will have their hands full with a surging Mavericks team and All-Star guard Luka Doncic, who has really ramped things up as of late.

Over his last five games, Doncic has recorded four triple-doubles, averaging 22.6 points, 11.4 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game. Dallas has won nine of its last 10 games, rising up the standings to fifth place in the Western Conference.
