Wednesday marks the beginning of a tough stretch for the Toronto Raptors.

Following their loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday, the Raptors play eight of their next nine games on the road, starting with a showdown against the Celtics in Boston.

It marks the second meeting between the Raptors and Celtics so far this season. In their first matchup, the Raptors cruised to a 32-point victory behind a balanced attack that saw six players score in double figures. Rookie Scottie Barnes led the way with 25 points and 13 rebounds, his first career double-double.

Unfortunately for the Celtics, they'll be without Jaylen Brown against the Raptors, as the team announced that the one-time All-Star will miss between one and two weeks with a hamstring strain. Brown has gotten 2021-22 off to a hot start with averages of 25.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists through eight games.

Despite Brown's strong play, it's been a weird season to date for the Celtics, who find themselves near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings with a 4-6 record. They've been solid defensively but have struggled offensively, ranking 22nd in offensive efficiency (104.5). Jayson Tatum in particular has struggled to score efficiently. While he's averaging 23.6 points per game, he's shooting only 39.5 percent from the field and 32.1 percent from 3-point range.

The Celtics have yet to win a home game this season. Whereas they're 4-3 on the road, they're 0-3 in Boston.

The Raptors are coming off of a loss, but they received a boost against the Nets with the return of Pascal Siakam. In 25 minutes of play, Siakam finished with 15 points, four rebounds and two blocks in his season debut.

Having Siakam back could help the Raptors get through this road-heavy period.
