Potential No. 1 pick Cade Cunningham declares for 2021 NBA Draft

On Thursday, Cade Cunningham announced that he will enter the 2021 NBA Draft.

The 6-foot-8 guard is coming off a strong freshman season at Oklahoma State, in which he averaged 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game on 43.8 percent shooting from the field and 40.0 percent from 3-point range.

Cunningham's standout performance came when he scored a season-high 40 points in an overtime win over Oklahoma on Feb. 27.

Cunningham earned a number of accolades at the season's end, including Big 12 Freshman of the Year, Big 12 Player of the Year and first-team All-American.

At the start of February, ESPN's Jonathan Givony and Mike Schmitz ranked Cunningham No. 1 in their mock draft. NBADraft.net has him at No. 1 in their most recent mock draft, as do Bleacher Report, The Athletic and FanSided.

The 2021 NBA Draft will take place on Thursday, July 29. The 2021 NBA Draft Lottery will be held a week prior, on Tuesday, June 22, 2021.
