Patty Mills takes over as San Antonio Spurs dominate fourth quarter in win over Brooklyn Nets

The San Antonio Spurs haven't missed the NBA playoffs since 1997.

It is only December, but the Spurs postseason streak might be in more jeopardy than ever before, as they hold an 11-16 record after a tough 118-105 win over the Brooklyn Nets.

Though the record isn't pretty, it would certainly be much worse without Patty Mills, who has lifted San Antonio to two victories in the last week.

After hitting the game winner in overtime against Phoenix last weekend, Mills was once again at his best today, pouring in 27 points in just 26 minutes off the bench.

The 27-point outing was his fourth game of 20 plus for the season, and his seven made threes tied a career high. Overall, Mills was 8-for-14 from the field and a scorching 7-for-10 from beyond the three-point arc.

Mills dropped 21 points in the second half, as San Antonio were able to overcome a 56-50 deficit after 24 minutes.

The win spoiled a career-night for Nets guard, Spencer Dinwiddie, who had 41 points and five assists for Brooklyn.

While it hasn't been an ideal start to the season for Gregg Popovich's squad, they now find themselves just one game out of the playoff race, with that postseason streak still a live chance to continue.
