Orlando Magic rookie Jalen Suggs to miss rest of Summer League with thumb injury

An impressive Summer League campaign has come to an end for Orlando Magic rookie Jalen Suggs.

Suggs suffered a sprained left thumb in the team's matchup with the Boston Celtics yesterday, with it later being announced that he will not play again in Las Vegas.

The injury was sustained on a drive to the basket, with the No. 5 overall pick falling to the floor and instantly grabbing his hand in pain.

It brings an end to some eye catching performances from Suggs, with the 20-year-old managing six points in just 11 minutes against the Celtics.

Earlier in Summer League play, Suggs tallied 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists against Cleveland, while also pouring in 24 points in an overtime win over the Golden State Warriors.

Playing alongside fellow rookie Franz Wagner and young teammates Cole Anthony and R.J. Hampton, the Magic have been one of the must see teams of Summer League thus far.

In a re-building phase, the Magic will be looking to makes moves to slide back into the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference after a one year absence with newly named rookie head coach Jamahl Mosley at the helm.
