No. 13 high school recruit Isaiah Todd signs contract with G League

Jalen Green isn't the only high school prospect who is choosing to play in the G League rather than go to college. G League president Shareef Abdur-Rahim announced on Friday that Isaiah Todd has also signed to play in the G League next season.

ESPN currently has Todd ranked as the No. 13 prospect in the Class of 2020.

"We're excited to have Isaiah begin his professional career in the NBA G League," said Abdur-Rahim. "With his skill and drive to succeed, I'm confident that he will thrive in the NBA G League and use all of our available resources to prepare for the next stage in his career."

A forward at Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, N.C., Todd was named a McDonald's All-American and Jordan Brand Classic selection this year.

Todd had previously committed to Michigan. Ahead of the NCAA's spring signing period, Todd officially decommitted to sign with the G League and begin his professional career.

"My dream has always been to play in the NBA," Todd told Jason Jordan of Sports Illustrated. "I just feel like this route will help my game grow even more. I want to be as prepared as possible when the time comes. This was a no-brainer for me."

Shams Charania of The Athletic reported earlier this week that Todd is expected to join the G League's new Southern California team, which will also feature Green.
