New York Knicks depth chart for 2021-22 NBA season

The New York Knicks currently have 14 players on guaranteed contracts for the 2021-22 NBA season.

An additional four players are on non-guaranteed contracts while they only have allocated one of their two slots for two-way contracts.

The Knicks are set to open their 2021-22 season at Madison Square Garden against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021.

The majority of the roster is signed to long-term deals at least through the 2022-23 season, with Dwayne Bacon's deal non-guaranteed, while Mitchell Robinson has a team option for this season and is currently in talks with the Knicks over an extension. If not, he will become an unrestricted free agent in 2022.

Key additions and subtractions

The Knicks acquired Kemba Walker from the Oklahoma City Thunder after he received a buyout on the final two years of his deal.

In free agency, they signed Evan Fournier to a four year, $78 million deal and signed Argentine point guard Lucas Vildoza to a four-year, $13.6 million deal

The Knicks selected Quinten Grimes with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Miles McBride with the No. 36 pick, Rokas Jokubaitis with the No. 34 pick and Jericho Sims with the No. 58 pick.

Positional battles

The most intriguing battle this season is at point guard, with the Knicks adding Miles McBride in the draft, along with signing Lucas Vildoza, who will be vying for minutes with Immanuel Quickley and Derrick Rose, behind starter Kemba Walker.

Dwayne Bacon, who averaged 10.9 points in 72 games for the Orlando Magic last season is signed to a non-guaranted deal, along with Aamir Simms and M.J. Walker who will battle for a roster spot. Luca Vildoza's four-year deal is also non-guaranteed.
