Warriors-Thunder Game 6 #NBATogetherLive

Prior to Game 6 of their Conference Finals series against the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2016, the Golden State Warriors had their backs against the walls.

Despite winning an NBA record 73 games in the regular season, they were facing elimination on the road. What's worse, they were on the receiving end of a blowout in both of the previous two games in Oklahoma City. The Warriors had lost Games 3 and 4 of the series at the Chesapeake Energy Arena by a combined 52 points.

Things weren't looking any better when the reigning NBA champions were trailing by their largest deficit of 13 with 4:44 left in the second quarter. However, the Warriors didn't lack fight and never gave up.

They brought that deficit down to five at halftime and kept it to within single digits for all of the second half before stealing the game with a 19-5 run in the final five minutes of the game.

The visitors rode Klay Thompson for most of the night, as the shooting guard exploaded for a playoff career-high 41 points, 19 of which came in the fourth quarter when the Warriors outscored the Thunder 33-18.

En route to dropping 41 and saving the team's season, Thompson knocked down an NBA playoff record 11 3-pointers.

The All-Stars on the Thunder - Russell Westbrook (28 points, 11 assists, 9 rebounds, 4 steals) and Kevin Durant (29 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks) - put up all-round numbers but couldn't ice the game. In fact, in the final five minutes of the game, they committed all of the team's six turnovers.

On the Warriors, the biggest support for Thompson came from his backcourt mate - Stephen Curry. Curry finished one assist shy of a triple-double with 31 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists including eight points in the final five minutes of the game.

In the 2016 NBA Finals, they surrendered a 3-1 series deficit to the Cleveland Cavaliers - the first and only time this has happened in any NBA championships series.
