After asking for a trade to seek more playing time , Thon Maker may have found a new home.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Milwaukee Bucks have agreed in principle to send Maker to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Stanley Johnson.

The Bucks who currently hold the best record in the NBA, have struggled to find minutes for the 21-year-old Maker. The Australian has appeared in 35 of Milwaukee's 52 games so far this season, finding himself buried on the bench amongst a crowded and talented Bucks' frontcourt that features the likes of Brook Lopez, Ersan Ilyasova and second-year stand out D.J. Wilson.

In Detroit, Maker could establish himself as a solid option off the bench behind Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond — especially with his ability to shoot the three.

In his third year in the league, Maker is averaging 14.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.6 blocks per 36 minutes.

In Johnson, Milwaukee gets an athletic wing player who hasn't quite become the lockdown defender most thought he would be coming out of the University of Arizona, and his shooting percentages have kept him off the floor in closing situations.

Johnson is joining the league's best defensive team, and in the Bucks' fast-paced offence he may be able to impact the game with his slashing ability.

Johnson is averaging 13.4 points, 6.6 rebounds per 36 minutes this season.
