Triple-double frenzy: NBA sets a new record for most triple-doubles in a single day

Well, that didn't last long!

Just four days after the NBA set a new record for triple-doubles in a single day with five on Saturday (ET), the record books were re-written on Wednesday's 10-game slate, with six players stuffing the stat sheet.

James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Domantas Sabonis, Draymond Green, Nikola Jokic and Ben Simmons all stuffed the state sheet, notching triple-doubles.

Harden, Westbrook and Sabonis also logged triple-doubles on the previous record-setting night.

Here's a look at how they went down:

James Harden

The Beard continues his scorching form for the Brooklyn Nets, pouring in 40 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds in their 124-115 win over the Indiana Pacers, joining Vince Carter as the only Nets players to record a 40-point triple-double.

Harden now has 11 triple-doubles this season and across his past 15 games, he is averaging a 25-point triple-double with the Nets going 14-1 over that span!

Domantas Sabonis

In the same game, Pacers forward Domantas Sabonis dropped 18 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists for his sixth triple-double of the season.

That breaks a tie with Lance Stephenson for the most triple-doubles in a season by a Pacers player since the franchise joined the NBA in 1976-77.

Ben Simmons

In the 76ers' thrilling 109-105 overtime loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, Ben Simmons was doing what he does best, filling up the stat sheet with his fourth triple-double of the season and 32nd of his career.

The Aussie finished with 13 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds on the night.

Nikola Jokic

Nikola Jokic is nearly averaging a triple-double for the season with 26.9 points, 11.1 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game.

In the Nuggets' 129-104 win over the Hornets, Jokic recorded his 10th triple-double of the season with 12 points (6-of-7 FG), 10 rebounds and 10 assists in 29 minutes.

Russell Westbrook

It's only fitting that the triple-double king was a part of the record-setting night in the NBA.

Westbrook recorded his league-leading 12th triple-double of the season in the Washington Wizards' 121-119 loss to the Sacramento Kings, pouring in 26 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists.

Draymond Green

Green was at his playmaking best in the Warriors' 108-94 win over the Rockets, recording 16 points (7-of-8 FG), 12 rebounds and 10 assists in 32 minutes.

He is averaging a career-best 8.4 assists this season!
