The Boston Celtics were being run off the floor by the speedy Sacramento Kings before fighting back in the second half to secure the 126-120 win at home.

Sacramento burst out of the blocks in the opening term as they opened up a 15 point lead with a little over a minute to play in the quarter.

They then extended the lead out to 17 points a few minutes into the second quarter and the crowd at the TD Garden was silent.

But then the Celtics began to find their groove and closed the second quarter and went into the main break down by only six.

The second half was a completely different story as the Celtics flipped the script on the Kings who are pushing for a spot in the playoffs.

Thanks to a barrage of three point bombs, the Celtics took their first lead since early in the first quarter with under a minute to play in the third term.

Sacramento kept things interesting down the stretch but they simply couldn't get over the line as the Celtics kicked off their three-game home-stand in style.

Kyrie Irving led the way for the Celtics with a 31 point, 10 rebound and 12 assist triple-double, with Marcus Morris pitching in a 21 point, 13 rebound double-double.

For the Kings they were paced by electric shooting guard Buddy Hield who knocked down 34 points on 14-24 shooting which included going 6-10 from deep.

The win for the Celtics takes them to 42-27 on the season and would've drawn them closer to the fourth seed had it not been for a miraculous comeback win by the Indiana Pacers.

Indiana move into third behind the improbable win, half a game clear of the Philadelphia 76ers in fourth who hold a one and a half game advantage over the Celtics.

The loss for the Kings has them sitting five games outside of the eighth seed with 15 games remaining on their schedule.
