Kyrie Irving leads Boston Celtics over LeBron James' Los Angeles Lakers with 30 points

A LeBron James triple-double wasn't enough on Saturday, as the Boston Celtics earned the 120-107 victory on the road over the Los Angeles Lakers.

James was at his dominant best for the Lakers, finishing with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. But he couldn't snap the Lakers' losing streak, which now hits five games.

As the injury tolls surrounding the Lakers continue to mount, the Celtics cruised into Los Angeles and recorded their third straight win. Kyrie Irving led the charge for the Celtics with 30 points to go along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Boston ended the contest with six players all registering double digit scoring as their record reaches 41-26 for the season and pushes them to only half a game behind the fourth placed Philadelphia 76ers.

Unfortunately for the Lakers, the loss pushes them further away from the eighth seed. LeBron's playoff run looks set to be brought to an end.

With 16 games remaining on their regular season schedule, the Lakers would need everything to go their way if they're to take part in postseason action.

The Celtics will look to keep their four-game road-trip win streak alive when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday.

For Los Angeles, they'll head off for a five-game Eastern conference trip with the journey getting underway on Tuesday when the take on the Chicago Bulls.
