NBA Playoffs 2020: Bam Adebayo downplays left wrist injury after Game 4 win, says 'I'm good'

With just over two minutes to play in the final quarter of Miami Heat's 112-109 Game 4 win, forward Bam Adebayo seemed to injure his left wrist as a result of getting tangled while fighting for a rebound.

He didn't exit the game, playing the rest of the way but kept clutching at it. With the head coaches among the first to come out for the postgame media interactions, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra had no real update on Adebayo.

"He's got a lot of ice on his body," Spoelstra added.

The Heat All-Star forward finished with 20 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and two steals. This was his sixth 20-point double-double of the 2020 playoffs, tying Shaquille O'Neal for second-most in franchise history for a single postseason.

Later, in his postgame media interaction, Adebayo clarified his status

As per AP's Tim Reynolds, the Heat forward is fine and will play in Game 5 on Friday, when the Heat could seal it's sixth Finals appearance in franchise history. However, after events from earlier in the day, not many were talking about the prospects of the franchise making the NBA Finals.

Adebayo, one of the Heat players who addressed the grand jury's decision on the case of Breonna Taylor's shooting, dedicated the Game 4 win to the 26-year-old woman who passed away this past March.

"This one was for her."
