NBA Playoffs 2019: Joel Embiid listed as probable ahead of Raptors-76ers Game 5

Joel Embiid has struggled with a knee injury, gastroenteritis and is now listed as probable heading into Game 5 against the Raptors on Tuesday.

According to TSN's Josh Lewenberg, Embiid missed shootaround on Tuesday morning and it was later revealed that an upper respiratory infection kept him away from the team.

When asked if he spoke to Embiid, teammate Jimmy Butler said no words were needed.

"I didn't ask how he's doing. I can look at him and tell how he's doing," Butler told the media.

"I tried to stay as far away as I could to tell you the truth. I love him, but I don't want to be sick.

"I hate being sick."

Embiid is averaging 18.0 points, 8.0 rebounds on 36% shooting through the first four games of the series. In Game 3 he had a breakout performance of 33 points 10 rebounds to give the 76ers a 2-1 lead in the series, but in Game 4 he was rather pedestrian as he dealt with another stomach virus that had him vomiting and struggling to get sleep before Sunday's contest.

The All-Star big man even needed an IV on the morning of the game to try and get himself ready to play.

Aside from his dominant performance in Game 3, Embiid has been held under 20 points in each of the other three games this series as he's faced stiff competition from noted Toronto centre Marc Gasol, a former NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

Game 5 is Tuesday night in Toronto with the series tied at 2-2.
