Welcome back to Head-to-Head!

In its second year, Head-to-Head returns as a fantasy game that is centred around how many points players score.

Every week, starting Dec. 7 through the remainder of the 2021-22 NBA season, five new matchups will be presented. In each matchup, all you have to do is pick which player you think will score more points in their game. For each correct pick, you earn points. The more points you earn, the more prizes you can receive.

However, there is one new twist this season: Head-to-Head will now keep track of streaks.

Fans with the longest streak (the most consecutive wins) over a specified six-week period can win $5,000. There will be three different six-week streak periods, meaning there is $15,000 total up for grabs over the course of the season!

Winners can also earn a video chat with an NBA All-Star, courtside tickets and more. There are weekly and season-long prizes, with over 190 prizes expected to be handed out this season.

You can find each matchup for Week 3 below.

Here's what you need to know about each matchup...

Stephen Curry vs. Luka Doncic

Matchup: Warriors at Mavericks

Date/Time: Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 7:30 p.m. ET

Channel: TSN 3/4/5

If this matchup is anything like last year's, we're in for one great scoring battle. When these two met last February, Curry erupted for 57 points but fell short to the Mavericks behind 42 points from Doncic. This year, Curry is averaging 27.2 points per game to Doncic's 24.9, giving him the edge in this head-to-head. Besides, it's hard to pick against Curry when it comes down to "who will score more points?" in any situation.

Scottie Barnes vs. Khris Middleton

Matchup: Raptors at Bucks

Date/Time: Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 8:00 p.m. ET

Channel: SN One

This matchup may come as a surprise, but Barnes (15.5 PPG) is only averaging three points fewer per game than two-time All-Star Middleton (18.3 PPG) this season. It's been somewhat of a down year for Middleton, who is shooting a career-low 41.9 percent from the field. However, with Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby and Gary Trent Jr. all healthy, Barnes will have to compete for some field goal attempts.

Donovan Mitchell vs. Nikola Jokic

Matchup: Jazz at Nuggets

Date/Time: Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 10:00 p.m. ET

Channel: NBA TV Canada

This is a heavyweight scoring bout between Mitchell and Jokic. Both All-Stars are averaging exactly 25.7 points per game. When they faced off earlier this season, Jokic's 24 points just edged out Mitchell's 22 points, but Mitchell does have a history of scoring explosions against the Nuggets. How could anyone forget his first-round playoff series against Denver in 2020, going for two 50-point games and a 44-point game?

Giannis Antetokounmpo vs. Kevin Durant

Matchup: Bucks at Nets

Date/Time: Friday, Jan. 7 at 7:30 p.m. ET

Channel: SN One

This matchup between Antetokounmpo and Durant just might be a battle for who is the best player in the NBA today. Antetokounmpo is averaging 27.9 points per game to Durant's league-leading 29.7. In their only matchup this year, which was the very first matchup of the season, both players went off for 32 points apiece. We should be in for another high-scoring affair in this one.

Trae Young vs. LeBron James

Matchup: Hawks at Lakers

Date/Time: Friday, Jan. 7 at 10:00 p.m. ET

Channel: SN One

At a quick glance, you would probably assume Young would be an easy selection over James, but LeBron is actually averaging more points per game by one-tenth of a point (28.5 to Young's 28.4). Both players are red hot as of late, with James recently rattling off seven-straight 30-point games (including one 40-point effort) while Young just went off for a career-high 56 points the other night. This one could go either way, depending on how much these two premier passers are sharing the rock.
