Through the first six or so hours of the 2019 NBA free agency, the Denver Nuggets have been quiet bystanders.

That's got to do a lot with the fact that they had 12 of their 15 players on the roster already locked up for the 2019-20 season.

After bowing out in the Conference Semifinals, the Nuggets will look to run it back next season, after picking Paul Millsap's $30 million team option for next season

However, the franchise was thinking long-term as well and has reportedly come to an agreeement on a max contract extension for their dyamic Canadian point guard Jamal Murray, according to Shams Charania.

Murray had a breakthrough year last season, averaging 18.2 points, 4.8 assists and 4.2 rebounds (all career-highs), while playing a huge role in the Nuggets making their first Conference Semifinals appearance in nearly a decade.

With the "Blue Arrow" signed up and Nikola Jokic on the books till 2023, the no. 2 seed from the last season has a strong young foundation in their super-talented international duo.

The new contract makes Murray the highest paid Canadian ever, eclipsing the five-year, $148 million dollar deal that Andrew Wiggins signed in 2017 with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Players can negotiate agreements with teams on July 1st but contracts can't be officially signed until the new league year begins on July 7.
