He's found a home in Phoenix, becoming a part of their rotation, playing all 16 of their playoff games, averaging 12.6 minutes off the bench, while shooting 44.4 percent from the 3-point line

Anderson Varejao found himself in a similar situation back in 2015-16 when he was offered a championship ring by the Cleveland Cavaliers even though he was traded to the Golden State Warriors in December.

He declined the ring, however, he was offered one again the following season in 2016-17 when the Warriors lifted the Larry O'Brien trophy after he was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers. He accepted that one after playing in 14 games for the Dubs that season.

Former Los Angeles Laker Dion Waiters, who won a ring in 2020 also found himself in a similar poistion.

The Heat traded Waiters to the Memphis Grizzlies after appearing in three games during the regular season. He was immediately released by the Grizzlies and soon signed with the Lakers as a free agent where he went on to face his former team in the bubble for the championship.

Game 1 of the NBA Finals is set for Tuesday, July 6 with tip off at 9:00 p.m. ET.
