NBA Finals 2021: Devin Booker records most points ever by a player in their first postseason

Devin Booker is a certified bucket.

In Game 4 of the NBA Finals, the Phoenix Suns guard created history, becoming the player with the most points ever in their first postseason appearance.

With 542 total points, the 24-year-old eclipsed the previous record held by Rick Barry (521).

Coming off a 10-point performance in Game 3, Booker bounced back in style, scoring 20 points in the first half alone - his sixth 20-point half of the playoffs. Impressively, he did so without making a single 3-pointer.

He went a perfect 7-of-7 in the third quarter to make it 38 points, which is tied for the second-most through three quarters of an NBA Finals game in the past 25 years.

He finished with 42 points on 17-of-28 from the field and 8-of-9 at the free throw line.

His big game went in vain as the Suns fell 109-103 as the series now shifts back to Phoenix for a pivotal Game 5 with the series tied at 2-2.
