DeMarcus Cousins will be active for Game 1 of the 2019 NBA Finals, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr announced on Thursday.

Cousins has been sidelined since Game 2 of Golden State's first-round series with the LA Clippers with a torn left quadriceps muscle, an injury he suffered three minutes into the game. The Warriors initially feared that it would be season-ending, but Cousins says he's now "healthy enough to play."

"I feel good," Cousins said on Wednesday. "My quad is coming along. It's healed for the most part. Still whipping things into the shape. Building the muscle endurance needed to play at a high level. Everything is coming along well."

After rupturing his left Achilles tendon on Jan. 26 of last season, Cousins appeared in only 30 games with the Warriors this season. He averaged 16.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.5 blocks in those games, with the Warriors going 23-7.

Cousins didn't play in either of Golden State's matchups with the Toronto Raptors.

Kerr did not reveal if Cousins will start in Game 1 or if he will be on a minutes restriction.
