The Toronto Raptors have begun to key in on a few prospects with less than a month remaining until the 2020 NBA Draft on Nov. 18.
According to Marc Spears of The Undefeated, the Raptors worked out San Diego State's Malachi Flynn and Kansas' Devon Dotson on Sunday, Oct. 25.

Who is Malachi Flynn?
Flynn, a 6-foot-1 point guard, averaged 17.6 points, 5.1 assists and 4.5 rebounds this past season at San Diego State, earning Mountain West Player of the Year and consensus Second Team All-American honours. In his most recent mock draft, NBA.com's Eric Fawcett projected Flynn as a late first-rounder, going No. 26 to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
A native of Tacoma, WA, Flynn spent his freshman and sophomore seasons at Washington State University before transferring to San Diego State. Per NCAA transfer rules, Flynn sat out of the 2018-19 season before returning to action as a redshirt junior in 2019-20.
According to his bio on the university's official site, Flynn "is the most decorated player in program history" for a single season, which is quite the accomplishment considering former Raptor Kawhi Leonard also played at San Diego State.
Who is Devon Dotson?
Dotson is a 6-foot-2 point guard that averaged 18.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists during his sophomore season at Kansas. He started in all 66 games that he appeared and, this past season earned consensus Second Team All-American honours as well as First Team All-Big 12 honours.
He's projected as a late second-round pick, going No. 54 to the Indiana Pacers in Fawcett's latest mock.
Outlook
As Toronto owns the No. 29 and No. 59 pick in the upcoming draft, it would appear that Flynn is a realistic option in the first round while Dotson could be available late in the second. Given the fact that teams are only granted 10 visits with prospects, the Raptors using two on these players would indicate high-level interest.
With Fred VanVleet as an impending free agent and Kyle Lowry turning 35 this upcoming season, Toronto's interest in drafting a point guard does not come as much of a surprise. Even in the event that VanVleet re-signs, one of these draft prospects could be the heir apparent as a backup once Lowry decides to hang them up.
