Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert was named the 2018-19 Defensive Player of the Year.

The Frenchmen joins the likes of Sidney Moncrief, Mark Eaton, Dennis Rodman, Hakeem Olajuwon, Alonzo Mourning, and Kawhi Leonard to receive the DPOY Award twice in their career.

He also becomes the third active player to win it in back-to-back seasons after Leonard and Dwight Howard.

Averaging 2.3 blocks per game in 81 games this season, Gobert played a huge role in the Utah Jazz registering their second 50-win season in three years.

Gobert now joins Mark Eaton as the Jazz players with the most DPOY Awards in franchise history.
