Luka Doncic continues to rewrite history, ties Michael Jordan for another NBA record

Dallas Mavericks forward Luka Doncic continues to add to what has been a remarkable start to the 2019-20 season.

In the Mavericks' blowout 130-84 win over the New Orleans Pelicans, Doncic joined elite company yet again in the NBA history books.

With a final stat line of 26 points, nine assists and six rebounds, the 20-year-old phenom matched Michael Jordan's record of 18 consecutive games notching at least 20 points, five assists and five rebounds.

Jordan and Doncic's 18-game streak of 20-5-5 is the most since the NBA/ABA merger, but Doncic is still a ways away from catching the legendary Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson, who holds the all-time record with 29-consecutive such games.

Robertson achieved this feat on four separate occasions, with streaks of 29 games, 25 games, 19 games and 18 games.

In tying Jordan for 18-consecutive games with 20-5-5, Doncic also passed Russell Westbrook (17-game streak in 2014-15) for the longest streak since the Chicago Bulls legend.

The Slovenian star continues to boost his MVP resume, as his averages are now up to 30.1 points, 10.0 rebounds and 9.2 assists per game on the season while the Mavericks boast a 16-6 record - the second-best in the Western Conference - and have won five games in a row and 10 of their last 11.
