Danny Green: Lakers 'figuring out what the next move is'

With the NBA season grinding to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic, players around the league are continuing to stay ready.

In a video interview with Bleacher Report, Lakers guard Danny Green told Taylor Rooks via FaceTime that he and his teammates are still holding individual workouts as they await further information on the future of the season.

"We're not actually allowed to be around each other as a group right now. Individual workouts were happening (Saturday). We did see some guys in passing, got a chance to talk a little bit, chop it up. Guys are figuring out what the next move is."

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver this week announced that the league's hiatus would last 'at least 30 days' with three players testing positive for coronavirus this week alone. Utah Jazz duo Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell tested positive as well as Detroit Pistons big man Christian Wood.

As the league takes every precaution to ensure the safety of the players, Green says that the day-to-day adjustment of not playing basketball is definitely something tough to get used to.

"I think most guys are just habitually used to being in the gym every day with each other and playing," Green said.

"I think, you know, a week away from basketball for us is like a long period of time. Obviously it's still fresh. It's only a couple of days, but a week from now, guys will be very bored and not know what to do with their idle time."

The NBA isn't the only sport forced to suspend their season, with all major leagues around the world, including the English Premier League, Champions League, NCAA basketball and EuroLeague basketball following suit and suspending their seasons, while Major League Baseball has canceled the remainder of spring training and pushed back the start fo the regular season by at least two weeks.

"Hopefully we get better news than worse and things get back to normal sooner than later. Stopping pretty much all sports, professionally and collegiate, it's tough to swallow. It's tough to believe."
