Klay Thompson is impressed with what he's seeing from Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors this season.
Ahead of Thursday's game between the Raptors and Golden State Warriors, the four-time All-Star was asked about his opinion on this Toronto team. In response, Thompson was very complimentary about the Raptors and said he wouldn't be surprised if this week's matchup between the two powerhouses ends up being a preview of the 2019 NBA Finals.
"Right now they are the best," Thompson told the media earlier this week. "I expect them to be there probably throughout the whole season. They got tremendous length, they got so many two-way players, obviously, Kawhi [Leonard] is back and playing at an MVP level, and Kyle Lowry is a great leader as well as - he's a bulldog out there."
"It's going to be a great test for us," he continued. "Who knows, it might be a preview of June. But they've got something really special up there in Canada right now."

Led by Kawhi Leonard, who is averaging 24.3 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, the Raptors currently have the best record in the NBA. They're also the hottest team in the league having won six straight games.
The Warriors, meanwhile, have had their ups and downs so far this season. They got off to a tremendous start in winning 10 of their first 11 games, but they're .500 since Stephen Curry suffered an injury on Nov. 8.
Nevertheless, the Warriors remain the favourites to emerge from the Western Conference. Curry is expected to return to the lineup soon and DeMarcus Cousins, a four-time All-Star the team signed in the offseason, is looking to return after Christmas.
A lot could change between now and June, but, as Thompson alluded to, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Raptors and Warriors in the NBA Finals based on how the opening month of this season has played out.
